Who else loves Winter? Brisk, breezy strolls under bare limbed trees now require multiple layers of coats, jacket, scarves and gloves; there is no other season when you are required to dress so chicly. The obsession with tanning and maintaining our ‘bikini bodies’ (a terrifying term if there ever was one) can also now lapse. Instead we can indulge with a bountiful bowl of piping hot brothy noodles from Ramen Ya or Ca de Vin’s lamb shanks and creamy mash (with, joyously, a bottle of red). Or else we can enjoy rugging up in or staying inside by the fire with a selection of these winter warmers below. They may become among our new favourite things about the new season.
