Melbourne's GPOTake 800 fine, feathered, and frocked-up ladies (and  handful of brave males), add a scrumptious three course menu, inspirational Spring Racing outfits on parade and you have the Melbourne’s GPO Racing in Style Ladies Luncheon. Mix in special guests like socialite Lillian Frank, milliners Paris Kyne and Kerry Stanley, presenter Kelly Landry, hilarious stylist Richard Reid and top it all off with a medley from Caroline “I’m only here because Liza couldn’t make it” O’Connor and you have a sublime afternoon. The Chicago star captivated the crowd with a mini set of her favourite songs from the musical as well as classics by Barbara Streisand, Judy Garland and French chanteuse Edith Piaf.
The highlight of the luncheon (apart from O’Connor’s energetic back up dancers naturally) was a race wear parade featuring the likes of Karen Millen, Arthur Galan AG, Lisa Ho, Hussy (with their sister label Madame Marie), nicolangela, Ben Sherman, Digby’s, Leona Edmiston, Veronika Maine, Max & Co., Manning Cartell, Wayne Cooper and Mimco. Ladies on the lawns please take note; this is how the races should be done – with style.
