We are excited to welcome Arabella Ramsay‘s ‘Temporary Pleasures’ pop-up shop to Melbourne’s GPO for a limited time only. Find hand-picked beloved cult labels like Dr. Denim, Lucy Folk and Superfine alongside Arabella’s own designs.
“Arabella Ramsay’s wanderlust women pack light for winter as they prepare to swap charmed lives for the spirit of adventure. Ramsay’s coveted street-chic leather separates feature against reclaimed prints and clean tailoring and to assemble the designers’ signature just-thrown-on look.
Global girls touch down wearing layered boyfriend hoodies, cashmere wraps, and lace sweaters in charcoal, oatmeal and sage. Long woollen aviator coats are layered over fresh white tees and mini skirts made from salvaged denim.
The nomadic intellects traverse the hippy trail, collecting Indian pashminas in duffel bags and filling their journals with worldly tales. They navigate seafaring voyages clad in Loch Ness Shirts, disembarking to roam the forest in country plaids and rabbit fur vests.
Longing letters are memorised from lovers back home in angelic lace shifts and sky blue sheaths. Peg trousers, woollen shorts and steely Dr Shivago wool suiting make for serious promises… and departures.
Motorcycle sojourns in suede cutoffs, exaggerated jackets, supersoft leather pinafores worn with a quirky tee left behind by somebody, somewhere. The valiant bohemians are all aboard the Silk Road in Babotchka dresses, writing home at dusk… independent and free.”
Arabella Ramsay’s ‘Nomadic Intellect’ Winter 2010 collection is available from her new Temporary Pleasures store on level one (take the lift) or call 03 9654 4772.
