In staying true to its nature of fusing art & fashion, over the next three months Melbourne’s GPO WILLOW boutique will showcase renowned architectural photographer John Gollings’ never before seen works entitled ‘Burnt Landscape’. The works explore the aftermath and capture the devastation of the Victorian Black Saturday firestorm in 2009.
“This will be my first public show for over twenty years but the WILLOW boutique had the same sort of creative ambience without the self consciousness of an art gallery”, said Gollings.
While flying above the burnt path from the Victorian firestorm with an objective view from a helicopter, Gollings avoids intrusion into the personal tragedies that often parallel these events; his interest and awe is with nature’s power and dark beauty through these unrelenting events.
The exhibition will run from now until the 31st July at WILLOW on our ground floor. Works are available for purchase. Please inquire in store.
