Willow’s ‘Eclipse’ at New York Fashion Week

Willow 'Eclipse'Having just shown at New York Fashion Week, Kit Willow’s latest collection entitled ‘Eclipse’ is about both presence and the present. Her muse for this collection is a “woman with presence”, one who is “not looking to the past or the future – she is empowered by who and where she is today”. As such, many of the pieces fit like a second – somehow more beautiful – skin in an appropriate flesh tone and fuchsia pink.

There are also pieces suited to the bold wearer who wants you to notice just how comfortable she is with herself; racy red sequins tend to stand out! Puffed shoulders create a new shoulder line for Willow this season, while laser cutting and digital prints return. Many of the pieces feature asymmetrical elements; a billowing sleeve here, off-centre folds and interesting hemlines there. So while the body is her canvas for this collection there is a sense of improving upon and embellishing its natural form. We think one of the highlights of the collection is this frock to the right. In a ‘poison pink’ hue, with sheer panels and folded hips, it makes for a strong, modern silhouette.
