HIGH SUMMER 2012

WHITE OUT

Simplicity with sophistication is the key recipe guiding our High Summer editorial. Think clean lines, a nod to the body con sensibility, a tonal colour palette & a slick of sunscreen. No matter if you are drawn to the architectural designs on show at Digbys, to that confident Zimmermann swimsuit, to that easy Skin and Threads cotton knit or Metalicus jersey number – a monochromatic look is a summer essential. It’s easily the most casual and polished way to get out of the house, regardless of your destination or the soaring temperature. To add some punch, try a bold piece of modern jewellery, care of Georg Jensen or a Pandora sport inspired white watch, a simple summer sandal and even a mane of wet hair.

SUN STRUCK

Sunglasses are always a summer essential. This season’s silhouette, both internationally and throughout MGPO stores is showing a hint of nostalgia. Whether inspired by a mod number, or an 80s beachcomber, the vintage aesthetic will carry you, both on the weekend and on the way to work. Pared back with a safari suit from Veronika Maine or a floor length throw on from Fleur Wood – vintage-esque sunglasses are a great way to instantly update for the season.

STEVIE LOVES

The Perfect Summer: Think Brooke Shields – Blue Lagoon, tropical bikinis and hippie hessian sacks. Think sandals galore, daylight savings and everything in those brilliant bright hues. It’s fresh fruit, a silk scarf thrown on and taking it easy. No prints don’t match – It’s holiday heaven! Try and add a touch of leopard. A kaftan even. Swap your digital for a real film camera. Summer fares well with vintage everything. Don’t forget to go out and enjoy it.
