Designers for the Good Friday Appeal

Sixteen leading Australian designers, creatives and entertainment personalities have pitched in to turn basic Marquise Baby Singlets into works of art. Each of the 20 singlets have been personally customised and are up for auction online to raise money for the Royal Children’s Hospital’s annual Good Friday Appeal.

Arthur Galan has designed two pieces; both designed with an edgy little princess in mind. “Hence the black lace rather than being obvious and going for something girly and pink”, explains the designer.

Cathryn Will of Mimco has also contributed two designs. The first is also intended for an alternative princess, going punk with tie dye, studs and a mass of gold safety pins. The second has a more refined air; “My inspiration for the singlet was the 1920′s, I thought it would be fun to combine a Trompe l’oeil waistcoat artwork, with a Mimco-esque metal mesh pouch,” says Cathryn.
