Gorman x James Morrison

Painter James Morrison has a way with colour. He also has a way of painting the Australian landscape (among others – I’m sure I spotted a tiger somewhere) so that it transforms into something exotic and vibrant, rather than dull and parched. There is no camouflage going on around here. He usually sticks to oil paintings on canvas but now the Melbourne based artist has the female body as his new muse.
Morrison and Gorman have collaborated to bring us this series entitled ‘Elizabeth’ (from the artist’s 2007 work of the same name); featuring Morrison’s entrancing prints on a range of Gorman’s relaxed pieces for Spring Summer. The designs themselves are quite minimalistic so as best to show off the artist’s wild imaginings. They have managed to create lively, statement pieces. The ‘Elizabeth’ series is strictly a limited edition run, numbered and each item is unique so you had better get in quick if you like the idea of being a walking landscape or gallery.
And those shoes too! Oops, falling in love again.
