We love that at this time of year you can add a dash of sparkle and even a little kitsch to your festive ensemble and no-one will bat an eyelid. We adore this Alice dress from nicolangela (it’s reminiscent of candy canes). We’ve paired it with silver accessories; a triangle stone bracelet from Karen Millen, Thumbelina ballet flats from Mimco and Beautiful Round Brilliant drop earrings from Secrets Shhh – though gold would work just as well. A Commes De Garcons leather zip pouch from Fat adds an element of luxury.

We wish you a Merry Christmas Melbourne, happy holidays and have a fabulous solstice!

During December, whenever you shop at Gorman you will also find in your hot little hand a scrumptious Green & Blacks organic chocolate bar. Hidden inside the bars, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory-style, are 5 winning tickets. Each lucky ticket holder wins a new $1500 wardrobe from Gorman and an organic hamper choc-full (literally) of Green & Blacks . We’re picking out our new wardrobe as we speak.

As part of this delicious pairing, Lisa Gorman has designed unique Christmas mobiles that you’ll see hung up in stores. Over 500 ornaments were fashioned origami-style from used Green & Blacks wrappers. That’s much smarter than strings of popcorn and paper lanterns.

Currently, Gorman have lots of fab Christmas ideas in-store from their own limited edition print ballet flats, to Nicole Ritchie’s House of Harlow jewellery line, to an absolutely stunning Tivi wood-grain clutch purse that we certainly have our eye on (Santa are you listening?) There are some good excuses to enter to see if you will soon have one of the golden tickets.

Visit Gorman on the ground level at Melbourne’s GPO

For many of us the 1st day in December is the traditional date to put up the pine-scented Tannenbaum, string up twinkling fairy lights and hang oversized Christmas stockings over a fireplace that won’t be lit again for another several months at least. However at Melbourne’s GPO the elves had already crept in a couple of weeks ago to bring festive cheer to the centre overnight.

Our Christmas installation for 2009 is complete. It is a modern, minimal take on seasonal colours designed by our friends at Davidson Branding and Diadem. Hundreds of red, green and clear acrylic shards have been laser-cut and now dangle from the ceiling like out of this world icicles. Take a look at the initial concept and finished result below or visit and see the optical spectacle for yourself (we dare you to try and figure our how many shards there are; alternatively what a handy way to distract the kids while you complete your Christmas shopping!)
